Felipe Caicedo not for sale Lazio tells determined West Ham

 

West Ham have made an approach for the Lazio striker Felipe Caicedo ahead of a summer move.

But according to Calciomercato, the Roman side have rejected the Hammers’ advances.

Lazio have no intention to sell the 31-year-old who has notched up eight league goals this season.

Caicedo will be known to Premier League fans who remember his spell at Manchester City between 2008 and 2011.

The Ecuador international played 26 times for the club, scoring eight goals, but spent much of his time on loan.

West Ham’s search for a striker has been well-documented with current frontman Sebastien Haller only scoring six league goals since his big-money move.

The club-record signing has now gone eight games without finding the net.

West Ham find themselves in a relegation battle after struggling for form this season.

Caicedo was signed by Lazio for €2.5millio in 2017.He was given the number 20 by his new club. On 20 August, Caicedo made his league debut vs SPAL coming on as a substitute for Senad Lulić in the 85th minute. On 3 December, he came off the bench to score his first Serie A goal in injury-time of Lazio’s 1–2 away win over Sampdoria.
