Ferguson lauds three Man United youngsters

Former Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, is impressed with the progress a good number of the club’s youngsters have made over the last few years.

Ferguson has singled out Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams, and Scott McTominay for praise, following their impressive start to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has given a number of academy graduates the chance to mingle with the senior team, and a good number of them have impressed.

Speaking to Ged Mason on behalf of Morson Group, Ferguson said: “I think it’s the area in which United have always done well, giving young players an opportunity.

“And you find that giving them an opportunity, they don’t let you down and they’ve shown that The boy Brandon Williams and Greenwood and McTominay — they’ve done exceptionally well.”

Greenwood has shone for United in striking alongside Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford, with McTominay dictating the midfield before his untimely injury.

Williams, on the other hand, has broken into the starting lineup in recent weeks following an injury to Luke Shaw, thoroughly impressing during the period.

Other young players that have broken onto the scene at Old Trafford include Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, and Andreas Pereira.
