FIFA Ranking: Eagles Drop One Place, now 34th in the world

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dropped one place in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday.

The Eagles who finished as bronze medalists at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt this year dropped to the 34th position after gathering 1482 points.

In Africa, Eagles remain the third position behind the Teranga Lions of Senegal (20th in the world) and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia (29th).

Reigning African champions, Algeria are 38th while Morocco occupies the 39th position to complete the top five teams in Africa.

Nigeria’s opponents for the November 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers the Benin Republic and Lesotho, the Super Eagles are 18th and 39th respectively in Africa and are 83rd and 137th in the world.

Nigeria will face five-time World Champions, Brazil in a friendly on October 13 at the National Stadium in Singapore.

Belgium are number one with 1752 points and are followed by France and Brazil with England and portugal coming fourth and fifth.
