FIFA Ranking: Eagles now 3rd In Africa, 42nd in the world

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have climbed to the 42nd position in the world in the latest FIFA Ranking released on Thursday.

The three-time Africa champions moved up four places and ranked third in Africa following their wins against Seychelles and Egypt in the last round of matches of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and the international friendly.

Eagles beat the Pirates 3-1 and pipped Egypt by a lone goal at the Stephen Keshi stadium last month.

Nigeria are behind Senegal and Tunisia who are ranked 23rd and 28th respectively.

Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana and Cameroon are some of the countries who made FIFA Ranking top 10 in Africa.

Belgium occupy the top position in the world, with world champions France, Brazil, England and Croatia completing the list of top five teams.
