FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles drop one place to 31st

 

 

Super Eagles went down one step in the current FIFA ranking dished out today.  The Jose Poseiro tutored side have been dangling like a yoyo for sometime now.

Eagles who will be watching the forthcoming World cup in Qatar from a distance having failed to qualify,were 32nd in February this year but improved to 30th in March before dropping to current 31st position, losing the the 30th position to World cup bound Tunisia. The team however remain 4th in Africa behind table toppers Senegal, Morocco and Tunisia.

Nations cup winners Senegal moved up 12 places, Morocco 13 places up and Tunisia 15 places up. Eagles recorded back to back victory in the in recent Nations cup qualifies and will be hoping to improve more when the contest resumes in September. The usual table toppers in world ranking however continue to enjoy their cruise control.

Brazil remain in the number one spot and Belgium also retained second place.

Argentina moved up one place to third, edging out World cup winners France who are now in fourth position while England currently having criticisms over poor run in the nations League  remain 5th on the log

Spain are in sixth, Italy seventh, Netherlands in eight, Portugal in ninth spot with Denmark concluding the top 10.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 25 August 2022.
