FIFA Rankings: Falcons are Africa’s best, 38th in the world

Nigeria’s Super Falcons are now the 38th best nation in the world after the latest FIFA rankings was released today.

The Falcons moved up one point to remain the best team in Africa with Cameroon (46), South Africa (49), Ghana (51) ad Cote d’Ivoire placing second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Defending champions United States of America lead with Germany coming second and England third while FIFA Women’s World Cup host, France are fourth.

Nigeria and France are drawn in Group A along with Norway and South Korea for the FIFA Women’s World Cup which begins in June.

Meanwhile Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr paid an unscheduled visit to the team’s training this morning.

The Falcons are in camp ahead of the WAFU Women’s Cup in May and the friendly against Canada scheduled for Spain on April 8.
