FIFA Secretary General hails NFF awards as Musa others shine

 

FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura, has called on affiliate members of the soccer ruling body to continue to celebrate players who constantly boost the game  through their exceptional performance

She made the call at the NFF awards held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos on Monday Night. Recognition and appreciation of award winning players according to her will not only ginger them to do more but will indeed encourage healthy competition and  fire  up and coming players to aspire to be the best.

The awards she further said is not just for the awardees and for her in her capacity as FIFA SG, but for all stakeholders of the round leather game even as she hailed the awardees on one hand and the NFF for putting up a good show on the other.

The Senegal born former Diplomat who was appointed as the first female Secretary General of FIFA by President Gianni Infantino on 13 May 2016, has previously worked in various positions at the United Nations and was in 2018 ranked number 1 by Forbes in the list of most powerful women in international sports.

Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa emerged footballer of the year following his impressive run at the world cup in Russia, grabbing a brace against Iceland with the first goal winning goal of the year.
