FIFA World Cup: Eagles are “trouble makers”– Blatter

Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in eight days time in Russia, former FIFA President,
Joseph Sepp Blatter has tipped Nigeria’s Super Eagles as one of the teams capable of giving the opposing team a run for their money.

Blatter, who went underground after he was forced out of office in December 2015 due to claims of
corruption and financial mismanagement, described the three-time Africa champions as trouble makers along with Uruguay

Blatter made this known on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Nigeria’s best outing remains a round of 16 outing recorded at the 1994, 1998 and 2014 editions.

The Eagles, who are in drawn in Group D with Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland will know their latest
FIFA ranking, which will be announced on Thursday.

The Swiss administrator, who has a bias for attacking football, has always followed Nigeria football.

In 2012, he wrote to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to retain the U-20 Women’s National Team
after their performance at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World cup in Japan where they finished fourth.
