FIFA WWC: Eagles praying Falcons qualify for Round of 16

 

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi remain hopeful that the Super Falcons can still reach the round of 16 despite ending the group stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup going on in France with three points.

Obi who praised the team’s performance despite the controversial way they lost to the host nation said they should continue to keep the country’s flag high. He also assured the girls of Eagles support.

“I just want to say well done for your efforts. We have been watching from our camp and have been keeping a close eye on the team.

“You have been doing amazingly well. You lost yesterday (Monday) but you guys played wonderfully well. It’s a shame it ended the way it did but hopefully you guys can still make it through,” he spoke on Twitter after the team’s training on Tuesday.

Nigeria would have to wait till the final group matches involving Argentina and Scotland in Group D and the Cameroon, New Zealand encounter in Group E to know their fate.
