The 14th edition of the Zenith Bank Women Basketball League tournament has named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this year’s tournament alongside 5 top players in the just concluded competition that was held at the Indoor Court of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Meanwhile, defending champions, First Bank Basketball team, retained their title after defeating youthful Dolphins with 84 points to 66 points, the final match was witnessed by a huge turnout of lovers of the game.
The Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Peter Amangbo after presenting the winner’s trophy and a huge sum of N1.5 Million to the captain of First Bank Basketball team, Nkechi Akachili, assured the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) that the bank will continue to strive in supporting the women basketball in the
country. The Dolphin which were the 1st runner up of the tournament went home with the sum of N1.2 million while Customs- 2nd runner up with N1 million
The FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup 2018 has finally announced pools for the competition which is to start November 9-11 in Lome.
For the Men’s pool side, Nigeria falls under pool c alongside with Uganda and Cape Verde while in the women’s pool side Nigeria battles with Egypt and Benin in pool B.
