Fleetwood Town 2-5 Everton: Iwobi nets first goal of the season

Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi opened his goals account for the season during Everton’s 5-2 demolition of Fleetwood Town in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The match which was played inside Highbury Stadium in Fleetwood saw manager Carlo Ancelotti hand the Nigerian his first start of the season. Iwobi missed the Toffees first two matches of the season following injury but returned as a substitute in the 5-2 thrashing of Westbrom last weekend.
Two Brazilians combined to give Everton the lead. Bernard delivered a sumptuous cross for Richarlison and he made no mistake to head past Alex Cairns for the home side.
The Toffees continued their dominance as Richarlison made it 2-0 just before half-time courtesy a pass from Iwobi. The Nigerian got into the goalscoring act in the second half with a simple finish to make it 3-1.
Callum Camps reduced the deficit for the home side but Bernard restored the two goals cohesion with Everton’s fourth for the night to make it 4-2 before former Juventus forward Moses Kean powered in the fifth to wrap up a brilliant outing for the Toffees.
