Flying Eagles Player Ratings against USA : Oremade concedes, Bashiru subbed, Utin caged

 

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on Monday lost to USA 2-0 which was their first defeat at the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.  Consdequently Sportinglife.ng takes a look at how the players fared.

Goalkeeper

Orewale Oremade: He should take part of the blame for the two goals conceded . (5/10)

Defenders

Valentine Ozornwafor: USA strikers kept the Enyimba defender busy throughout the match (6/10)

Rabiu Zulkifilu: He was the weak link in the defence (4/10)

Ikouwem Utin: We didn’t get to see those runs from the captain (5/10)

Aliu Salawudeen: Made little impact. (3/10)

Midfielders

Tom Dele-Bashiru: Had to be replaced in the 31st minute of the match having found it difficult to adjust. (3.5/10)

Maxwell Effiom: Had a silent game (4/10)

Jamil Muhammad: No sense of urgency in his game (4/10)

Kingsley Michael: He was kept in check by USA defender Mark McKenzie. He also got a penalty for Nigeria that was overruled by VAR. (4/10)

Attackers

Jerome Akor: He should not have made the starting line up (3/10)

Henry Offia: His delivery upfront was poor. (4/10)

The Substitutes

Muhammad Tijani: Came close to scoring having after coming in for Akor (6/10)

Aniekeme Okon: Came on for Dele-Bashiru and had his shot saved by the USA keeper. He was lucky not to be red carded 5/10
