Flying Eagles’ Rickson Mendos confident of victory over Kenya in final group clash

Flying Eagles midfielder Rickson Mendos is confident his team will secure a win against Kenya in their final Group B match at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The decisive clash is set to take place today (Wednesday) at the June 30 Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.

Aliyu Zubairu’s side opened their campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Tunisia and followed it up with a goalless draw against Morocco on Sunday.

 Kenya, meanwhile, have slim hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals after suffering back-to-back defeats to Morocco and Tunisia.

Mendos emphasised that the Flying Eagles are fully focused and determined to go all out for victory against the Rising Stars.

“We have prepared well, the coaches have done well with us. We know how important this game is to our target in this competition We will go all out and fight for the maximum points. It is important for us to win and top the group,” the striker told the team’s media officer, Shariff Abdallah.

The Group B encounter will kick-off at 4pm Nigeria time.
