Flying Eagles skipper, Ikouwem gets late Eagles call up

Flying Eagles skipper, Ikouwem Udoh has been handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles and he is expected to resume for the senior national team two games this month against Egypt and Seychelles.
Udoh, a player of the Enyimba excelled at the African U20 Cup of Nations held in Niger Republic where he was in the CAF Team of the Tournament alongside his teammates with People’s Elephant, Valentine Ozornwafor.
Ozornwafor was invited for the Eagles forthcoming games with the Pharaohs and the Pirates but the Flying Eagles skipper was initially overlooked before the latest turn of event.
The head coach of Enyimba, Usman Abdallah informed SportingLife that the invitation letter of the left back got to the People’s Elephant camp yesterday and that he and Ozornwafor will join the Eagles camp after their away game against Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
“Ikouwem has been invited to the Eagles camp and he is expected to join the team on Monday,” Abdallah told SportingLife.ng.
“We received his call up invite today and he and Valentine will join the Eagles camp on Monday after our game with Sunshine Stars.”
Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr was in Niger Republic for the African U20 Cup of Nations where he was able to see both players at close range and their inclusion in the CAF Best XI only fueled the qualities he noticed in both players.
