Folarin Balogun’s Arsenal departure imminent

Arsenal are resigned to losing Folarin Balogun at the end of the season.

According to The Mirror, Balogun is set to leave the club -whom he joined at the age of eight – due to a lack of minutes at senior level.

The US-born 19-year-old is being targeted by a number of Bundesliga clubs having made just five senior appearances this season.

The highly-rated youngster has found himself unable to prove his worth to boss Mikel Arteta in his quest for minutes, despite shining in the club’s Under-23 side and scoring two goals in the Europa League despite limited minutes.

Arsenal will have little option other than to grin and bear it too, with Balogun’s contract up this summer.

With German sides – notably RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen – leading the race, the Gunners may receive zero compensation too as they will only be eligible should he remain in England.
