Font: Heavens will not fall if Messi leaves Barcelona

Barcelona presidential candidate, Victor Font, has said there should be no course for alarm if Lionel Messi leaves the club tomorrow.

While insisting revelations over the captain’s contract should not detract from what Messi has given the club, Font is adamant Barca could handle his departure.

“Messi is a huge asset, but if he is not here in the future, it is not the end of the world. Messi generates a lot,” said Font to Onda Cero.

“To say that Barcelona has been ruined by Messi is the wrong conclusion.”
