Football’s top 20 managers ranked by fans

Football fans have voted Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as the best manager in the world.

The German, who took the reins at Anfield back in 2015, has guided the Reds to the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup and won FIFA’s Best Men’s Coach award for his achievements.

A two-time Bundesliga winner with Borussia Dortmund, Klopp was on the verge of delivering Liverpool’s first league title for 30 years until the season was indefinitely postponed – though the runaway leaders are set to be crowned champions even if the campaign doesn’t resume.

And over on Ranker,  supporters have put Klopp in the top spot ahead of Pep Guardiola and Zinedine Zidane, two managers who rewrote history in world football after managing the B teams of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Defensive master Diego Simeone, who knocked Klopp’s European champions out of Europe’s premier club competition at the round of 16 stage last month, comes in fourth place.

Italians Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte and Max Allegri are all include in a top ten which has Jose Mourinho down as the ninth best manager in the game.

Gareth Southgate, who led England to the semi-finals of a World Cup for the first time since 1990, occupies 13th spot, with Zlatko Delic, Croatia manager and the man who guided his country to a surprise final in Russia, a place further down.

Maurizio Sarri, Roberto Martinez, Erik ten Hag, Joachim Low, Claudio Ranieri and Roberto Mancini are the final five in top 20 that plenty of fans will no doubt have an issue with.
