Former Falcons Coach pleads for help to undergo hip surgery

Former Super Falcons coach, Kadiri Ikhana has called on well-meaning Nigerians for financial assistance to undergo a hip replacement surgery that he has been battling with.

The 67-year-old coach said he can no longer bear the burden alone. which has prompted him to solicit help.

“I retired from coaching because of the lingering injury which I thought would go with me quitting coaching altogether but I tell you, if you see me now, to take a step is difficult for me. I thought I could bear the costs alone as I have been treating it for a long time and now I am at my wit’s end”.

“I am coming out now because the pain is just too much. I need help and I won’t mind anything I just need help”, the quintessential coach concluded,” he told scorenigeria.com.ng.

One of Nigeria’s most successful coaches, Ikhana guided Enyimba to winning the CAF Champions League in 2003. He has handled several clubs in Nigeria

Following the club’s exploits at the continental level, Ikhana was awarded the CAF’s Coach of the Year that same year and in 2004, he was appointed manager of the Olympic team.

In 2012 he returned to lead the Falcons to the Africa Women’s Championship where they placed fourth after losing to Cameroon in the third place match. He later resigned after the tournament.
