Former Super Eagles star wants Steve Bruce to continue at Newcastle

Newcastle United loans chief, Shola Ameobi, wants to see manager Steve Bruce remain once the club is sold.

It was reported yesterday that the £300m Saudi Arabia-backed deal was close and could be complete within the next seven days.

“I’m definitely a guy who doesn’t want to make rash decisions,” said Ameobi.

“I think Steve Bruce has done a terrific job here with what he’s had to work with.

“I think for me Steve is a manager who’s very experienced, for me, my advice would be to stay with what we have.

“Definitely if a new owner comes in they’ll want to know how the club runs and want to know what they’ve got in the club and for me it would be important to give stability to what we have here and then moving forward then you can make decisions once you know what it’s about.
