Four-capped Super Eagles striker joins Turkish Club On Loan

 

Four-capped Super Eagles striker, Kayode Olarenwaju has signed with Turkish club, Gazisehir Gaziante on a one-year loan deal from Ukrainian side, Shakhtar Donetsk.

Kayode is aiming to revive his career with Gaziantep after failing to make impact at Shakhtar that he joined on loan from Manchester City in 2018 before making the deal permanent.

Unfortunately for Olarewanju, he managed to score four goals in 24 appearances which was a far cry from his time at Austria Wien where was regarded as a hero.

It was his performance at Austria Wien that attracted Manchester City to sign him before loaning him out to Spanish side, Girona.

At Wien, he scored 30 goals from 60 appearances and also won the Most Valuable Player award in 2017.

Another memorable time for the Nigerian was when he played for Maccabi Netanya where he scored 13 goals and providing six assists in a season.

Kayode has also featured for the the U-17, U-20 and U-23 national teams.
