French club names Brown Ideye in team of the decade

Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has been included in Sochaux’s best eleven for the period 2010-2020, according to the club’s official website.

Ideye featured prominently for Les Lionceaux between 2009 and 2011 netting 22 goals in 58 appearances across all competitions.

The 31-year-old also played a pivotal role as the French Ligue 2 outfit secured a Europa League spot in 2011 after forming a formidable partnership with Mali’s Cedric Bakambu.

Following his exit from Sochaux, the versatile forward joined Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv, and later played for West Brom, Malaga amongst other clubs.

This campaign, Ideye has rediscovered his shooting boots, scoring seven goals in 19 appearances for Greek club, Aris.

On the international scene, Ideye scored six goals in 28 appearances for Nigeria, with whom he won the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2013.

However, he is currently surplus to requirements given the number of attacking options at the disposal of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
