Furious Arsenal fans want Emery sacked after equaling record for worst-ever start 

Arsenal fans have called for the sack of Unai Emery following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City which saw the Gunners record their worst-ever start after 12 matches in the Premier League.

Arsenal are now without a win in six matches across all competitions.

The Gunners defense finally collapsed in the second half and conceded a Jamie Vardy goal in the 68th minute. Seven minutes later, James Maddison slammed home a shot from outside the visitors’ penalty area to dash any hopes of a comeback.

They have been demoted to the sixth position following the defeat while their record of 17 points and minus one goal difference is the worst start to a top-flight season after 12 games since 1982-83 where they registered 15 points. Interestingly, the team is now without a win in six matches across all competitions.

Emery accepted blamed but has pleaded for more time to move the club in the right direction.

“I am speaking with the club to stay strong and recover,” he told a post-match news conference.

“We also have young players who are growing up with us.

“I know we are receiving criticism but I have done before and I have recovered. I accept all the criticism. It is normal. Today we did one step ahead being better defensively.

“We can be disappointed but not with the attitude of the players, they did the gameplan. In the second half, we created some chances and when they scored we lost that opportunity.
