Gabriel Veron’s agent quizzed over Man U interest

Gabriel Veron’s agent was been quizzed over interest in his client from Manchester United.

It comes amid reports that the Red Devils are taking a closer look at the 18-year-old and are contemplating a transfer.

The teenager has been one of Palmeiras’ best players this season, netting six and setting up three.

He has been predominantly used as a right-winger this campaign, a position that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen.

United have looked at South America more and more over the past couple of years as an area rich with talent.

Facundo Pellestri was signed on deadline day from Penarol and has been impressing coaches at youth level since.

And they were close to agreeing a transfer for Ecuadorian prospect Moises Caicedo before pulling out of a deal.

The 19-year-old ended up joining Brighton but United are keeping their eye on the midfielder.

Now their attentions have turned to Veron, who has been wowing scouts in Brazil.

But they are not the only ones and a host of Serie A clubs are also eyeing a move for the teenager.

Italian outlet Europa Calcio managed to get hold of Veron’s agent Lupercio Segundo and asked him about the links to Old Trafford.

“These are situations that I cannot anticipate. There are talks with some clubs and the proposals are expected to become official,” he replied.
