Gent 2 – 1 Charleroi: Wolfsburg place £3.5m on Osimhen after goal number 5

Nigerian teenage striker, Victor Osimhen was on target on Friday night for his Belgian side, Charleroi, but his goal was not enough to prevent his team from suffering it’s sixth defeat of the season at the Ghelamco Arena.

The 19-year-old ex-Eaglets’ forward equalised for the away side in the 42nd minute after Georgian midfielder, Giorgi Chakvetadze put the home team ahead in the 36th minute.

Chakvetadze grabbed his brace three minutes after the start of second half to help Gent secure it’s sixth victory of the season.

Osimhen has now scored five goals in his last six games and expectedly clubs have taken notice of his exploits after an unhappy 18 months spell with Wolfsburg after his dazzling performance for Nigeria at the 2015 U-17 World Youth Championship.

Osimhen has put himself in the spotlight once again at modest Charleroi where he is on loan from German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for the rest of the season.
