The Ghanaian government has dissolved the country’s football association after claims of bribe-taking by referees and top FA officials.
Information minister Mustapha Abdul-Hamid said the government was shocked at the claims of a BBC documentary that indicted GFA President Kwesi Nyantyaki.
Nyantyaki was caught on camera allegedly requesting $11 million from undercover reporters posing as businessmen.
“The documentary exposed widespread fraud in the FA,” said Abdul-Hamid
The officials have been referred to the police for further investigation while plans are on to get a new body to run the sport.
