Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday signed the Edo State Sports Commission bill into law two weeks after it was passed by the Edo State House of Assembly.
The Edo State Sports Commission(ESSC) was created in 2018 by Governor Obaseki through an executive order. He went ahead to appoint Barrister Godwin Dudu-Orumen, an experienced sports administrator and businessman as its Executive Chairman.
By signing into law, the commission replaces the Edo State Sports Council created in 1967 through the Sports Council Act of 1967 and amended in 1980.
