Guardiola hopes Messi stays at Barcelona
Former Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, wants Lionel Messi to continue with the club until the day of his retirement.
Manchester City have long been linked with a move for Messi and in Guardiola, they have a head coach who knows him better than any other boss, with the forward integral to Barcelona’s success during his time in charge between 2008 and 2012.

Messi caused shockwaves around the world when he tried to force his exit last year and speculation of a move has ramped up again, with the forward out of contract this summer.
However, in a new documentary for Spanish station TV3, Guardiola said: “I hope he can finish his career at Barca. Messi will not find a better home than at Barca.
“The only thing that needs to be done is to go back to the origins of what makes the club special.”
