Plateau United forward, Amos Gyan is in cloud nine after scoring his first goal for the club in a 2-1 victory over Yobe Desert Stars in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 11 fixture in Jos on Wednesday.

Gyan, who was making his first start since joining from Kano Pillars this season, opened scoring for the Peace Boys in the 11th minute but Philip Asuquo leveled for the visitors on the stroke of half-time before Emmanuel Odafe volleyed home the winning goal in the 55th minute.

In a chat with SportingLife.ng, Gyan said he will always take his chances if called upon by the coach Kennedy Boboye-led coaching crew.

“This is my third match for the team and my first start and I scored a goal with an assist. I am very excited scoring the goal for my new club because I have been patient for this day to come.

“I played for Kano Pillars last season and scored five goals. So this time, I’m pushing to score more for my new team. I hope to get more opportunities like this to contribute my quota as we continue to defend the title.

“I don’t know if I will start the next game because it all depends on the coach. If he feels I can start the game, I am ready to give my 150 percent best to the team,” the former Giwa FC told SportingLife.ng.
