Haaland breaks Bundesliga speed record with 36.04 KM/h run vs Stuttgart

Erling Haaland smashed the Bundesliga speed record for this season during Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart – clocking in at a pace of 36.04 KM/h.
The 20-year-old is currently on the driest goalscoring spell of his career but is still finding ways to hit the headlines.

During Saturday’s 3-2 win, the Norwegian managed to hit his top speed during a blistering counter attack.

To put into context how quick Haaland was running, that’s around 22 miles/h.

 

One fan commented: “Crazy that Haaland has the fastest recorded speed in Bundesliga. Like how’s this big ass Norwegian just burning dudes? He’s really special.”

Another added: “Haaland hit a top speed of 36kmh today… The guy was made in a lab I swear.”

A third said: “Haaland just smashed the Bundesliga speed record. Cyborg stuff.”

While a fourth said that: “Haaland just made a sprint timed at 36.5kmh wow.”

Dortmund came into the game on the back of a late 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

They’re still in danger of missing out on next season’s competition however and sit in fifth place

Sasa Kalajdzic looping header in the first half had Dortmund fearing for the worst.

Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham managed to strike after the break to make it 2-1 before Daniel Didavi then fired in an equaliser in the 78th minute.

It fell on the shoulders of 19-year-old Ansgar Knauff to find a late winner with a moment of magic.

He took on two defenders before shimmying onto his right foot for a curling effort just outside the box.

The result keeps keep Dortmund within touching distance of the top four and three points ahead of Bayern Leverkusen.

Eintracht Frankfurt are currently seven points clear and they edged out Wolfsburg in a 4-3 thriller this weekend.

Dortmund will welcome City to Signal Iduna Park next week for the chance to face Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germian in the Champions League semi-finals.
