Higuain’s replacement: Cannavaro unsure about Osimhen

One-time Ballon d’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro may welcome the arrival of Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen to Napoli,  but cannot say if he would be able to fill the shoes of Gonzalo Higuain.

Speaking in Monday’s edition of www.gonfialarete.com, Cannavaro said it was a difficult question to answer
judging from Higuain’s performance on the field.

The 1996 World Cup winner however praised Napoli manager and friend Rino Gattuso for not giving up on Osimhen who was also linked to clubs in the English Premier League, La Liga, and other Italian top-flight teams, before the Naples club won the race for his signature.

“The investment of Napoli of 70 million for Victor Osimhen convinces me. It’s a nice shot! I am happy for Rino Gattuso. He really wanted to have this player and he arrived at Napoli, ”

“What is certain is that it is not easy to replace Gonzalo Higuain. The Pipita has always managed to make a
difference on the field. Difficult for me to answer.”
