Two time CAF Champions league winners Enyimba are not only missing football action but are indeed counting the number of days they last played at their stadium.
The Aba based side who battled hard but failed to zoom into the semifinals of this year CAF Confederation Cup are observing the global sports lockdown with players indoors and perhaps trying their hands on other ways of keeping fit at the coronavirus pandemic holds the world in the jugular.
The peoples Elephant are not only thinking about themselves but also about their fans while looking forward to post pandemic era when they can return with their fans to do what they are known for.
The eight time league winners took to the social media Saturday to call on their teeming fans to stay safe noting that it is now 40 days since they last played at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba,
“4️⃣0️⃣ days have passed since we last played at the Enyimba Stadium Stadium And because we’ve missed this home, we’ve made a message for your Crown,” said the club.
The Felix Anyansi-Agwu led club admits that the lockdown has been tough for everyone while cautioning their fans against venturing out without a face mask which has suddenly become a must have not only in Nigeria but across the globe.
Enyimba who are Nigeria professional football league defending champions, were occupying the fifth position on the log with 36 points in 20 matches before the league was suspended following the rampaging effect of coronavirus.
The league management like their counterparts across the globe are currently looking for a way of completing the season should the pandemic make it impossible to complete it on the pitch.
