Hot favorites Brazil crash out! lose 1-2 to Belgium

Five time world cup champions Brazil surprisingly hit the exit door after a shock 2-0 defeat by Belgium at the Kazan Arena on Friday.

The samba Boys as they are fondly called have severally been tipped to go all the way to the final and even clinch the title for the 6th time, but that was not to be as Belgians otherwise called the Red Devils came out in full force mounting pressures from the first blast of the whistle. The pressure paid off as Fernandinho in an attempt check-mate rampaging Red Devils headed the ball into his own net to hand the Belgians their first goal.

Banking on counter accounts which they seem to have perfected the Belgium gingered by extremely mobile Lukaku set up De Kevin De Bruyne  to earn the Belgians a second goal before the 3st minute. It was a match that kept everyone at the Kazan Arena on the edge of their seats.  The Belgians did not only maintain their lead till the end of the first 45 minutes but maintained the tempo in their quest to consolidate on the lead. However Renato Augusto’s 76th minute goal sort to provide a lifeline for  Brazil and also served as a major ginger as the Samba Boys found a new vigor with wasted opportunity in the 84th minute that should have been sealed by Coutinho. The coach Tite tutored side in the last part of the second half put in everything they can muster but it was too late as Belgium ran away with a 2-1 victory.
