How Falcons fared against Zambia

Super Falcons spanked Zambia 4-0 to get their Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign back on track at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast on Wednesday.

Sportinglife.ng takes a look at how the Falcons fared in their second match in Group B.

Tochukwu Oluehi: The Falcons first choice keeper was on holiday throughout the game. 6/10.

Ebere Ngozi: We are yet to see those pacy runs from the former PSG left back who was voted the Player of The Match against Zambia when both teams met at the 2014 edition in Namibia. She was however calm and matured. 5/10

Onome Ebi: Onome held her own in the heart of defence. 6/10

Osinachi Ohale: Ohale combined perfectly with Ebi in the heart of defence and made sure they contained Zambia hit woman, Grace Chanda. 6/10

Faith Michael: She was composed and commanding at the right back. The experienced defender had a better game than the opening match against South Africa. Unfortunately she picked up a knock and had to be replaced at half time.
7/10

Halimatu Ayinde: The midfield player laid the pass to Francesca Ordega for the first goal. 6/10

Falcons

Ngozi Okobi: Nicknamed Iniesta because of her clinical passes, Okobi held the midfield with her skills and versatility. 7/10

Rita Chikwelu: She made her presence felt in every department of the game as captain. 6/10

Francisca Ordega: Set up the first goal and scored the second to win the Player of the Match. A good game from the Washington Spirit forward who is known for her hardwork and die hard spirit on the pitch. 8/10

Desire Oparanozie: She finally opened her goals account after missing a sitter against South Africa in the opening game. She still needs to work on her pace and finishing ahead of subsequent matches. 6/10

Asisat Oshoala: The reigning Africa female player missed several scoring chances. She needs to be calm in front of goal when they face Equatorial Guinea on Saturday. 5/10

Rasheedat Ajibade: The FC Robo Queens replaced Oparanozie and registered her presence with a goal to make a statement in the tournament. It was a screamer of a goal which should be in contention for the goal of the tournament 6/10

Josephine Chukwunonye: She replaced Ikidi-Michael and didn’t fare badly. 6/10

Amarachi Okoronkwo: The Nasarawa Amazons midfielder appears not to be intimidated by the presence of the foreign based players after coming in the second half. She got the team’s fourth goal in her debut outing. 6/10
