Nigeria born British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has poured cold water on rumours making the rounds that he is dating ex-wife of Algeria international and Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
Joshua, 30, has reportedly been spotted out and about with 26-year-old Rita, who has two children with Mahrez but is now separated from the footballer.
Reports in the Sun stated that Joshua had been ‘been spotted on nights out with Rita’, both in public and at the luxury pad of a mutual friend.
In a swift reaction however a spokesman for Joshua vehemently denied the accusation.
‘Anthony doesn’t personally know Mrs Mahrez and has no wish to, now or in future,’ AJ’s spokesman told the Sun.
‘He’s disappointed that she or people around her have tried to use his name to generate publicity.’
Joshua is single after his split from dancer Nicole Osbourne in 2016, who he has a young son with.
Mahrez and Rita, a British Model with India descent married got married in 2015 and had two children. The Sun however reported that the Man City star divorced the wife citing betrayal.
He was later reported to be dating a lady named Taylor, the daughter of reality TV star and interior designer, millionaire Down Ward.

The newspaper claimed that the 22-year-old Taylor, who was previously linked to Mahrez’s colleague in Manchester City, Argentine star Sergio Aguero, initially refused to develop her relationship with the Algerian international before it was confirmed that his previous marriage had officially hit the rocks.
