I have got enough support to succeed with Enyimba, says Finidi George

Former international, Finidi George, has said he’s not afraid to make a meaningful impact with the Enyimba Football Club of Aba as he has received enough support to succeed.

Speaking for the first time after his unveiling by the two-time CAF Champions League champions, Finidi said he was ready to justify the confidence reposed in him by Enyimba’s management through his stint with the club.

” I don’t care what people have been saying about this appointment, all I know is that I have been given a free hand to succeed at Enyimba and I’m ready to prove my worth as a coach,” he said.

After making a name for himself at Ajax in the Netherlands – being a leading figure in a team that won eight major titles, including the 1995 Champions League – he played several years in Spain with Real Betis, also having a brief spell in England before retiring.

Finidi was an important member of the Nigeria team during the 1990s, appearing in two World Cups. The 1994 and 1998 editions.

Finidi played throughout his footballing career for Nigeria with his iconic number 7 Jersey.

He has been enjoying his career in Spain after obtaining a UEFA coaching certificate before he got the recent appointment to coach in Nigeria

“My desire is to continue to perform well with Enyimba by breaking every barrier, winning all my matches, and succeed with the club,” he told a popular radio Brilafm.

He also re-affirmed the commitment of the players to work with him in their quest to transform the fortunes of the club.
