I turned down German, EPL clubs to settle for Stoke–Etebo

Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has revealed that he turned down transfer requests from clubs in the German Bundesliga and the English Premier League before settling for Championship side, Stoke City.

The former Warri Wolves player signed for Stoke before the start of the Russia 2018 World Cup and the midfielder told SportingLife.ng that he felt it was the best decision for him to sign up with Stoke who were relegated from the EPL last season.

He said if he was told to review his decision and delay it until after the World Cup he would still have made a similar choice and that he is enjoying his time with Stoke City and he is looking forward to helping the club return to the EPL at the end of the current season.

“It was a decision I made in the best interest of my career and I still feel if I am told to make the decision again after the World Cup I would have done the same thing,” Etebo told SportingLife.ng.
