I will trade my champions league medal for World Cup–Mikel

Super Eagles Captain, Mikel John Obi has said he would be ready to trade his Champions League medal for the FIFA World Cup which he has never lifted.

The Nigerian has won virtually every major trophy both at the international and club level and remains hopeful of winning the World Cup with the senior team before he finally quits the game.

The 32-year-old sat down with the Super Eagles media team ahead of Nigeria’s opening match against Burundi on Saturday to respond to questions on the game, favourite meal and lifestyle.

On who prefers between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Obi who is gunning for his second Africa Cup of Nations title picked Messi.

In his estimation, the Argentine belongs to another planet judging from the way he has made football look easy.

”I’m grateful to have been able to play with him, from U20s we started playing against each other, played against him so many times”. he answered while also stating his preference for Nigeria artiste Yemi Alade over Davido.

He was also asked about his favourite Nigeria city which he gave to Abuja while saying he remains a fan of Chinese dishes as against local delicacies. ” I have not eaten eba for  seven years
