Ighalo issues coronavirus plea to football pundits

Nigeria and Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo, has taken to Instagram to appeal to football fans all over the world on the issue of coronavirus and also urged them to be more careful.

The deadly virus had claimed many lives and it has already paralysed activities across the globe.

The Nigerian was subjected to confinement from United’s training ground upon his arrival on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Despite not being diagnosed with the virus, the 30-year-old was told to quarantine himself from United’s AON Training Complex as a precaution and worked at another facility in Manchester with a personal trainer.

He only joined his teammates for two sessions, two days before his debut in the 2-0 win against Chelsea at Samford Bridge on February 17.

But the pandemic has since made its way to England where several Premier League clubs have been affected, including Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

In the wake of a series of Covid-19 cases, the Football Association opted to suspend football in the country until April 4 and Ighalo has taken to Instagram to ask football lovers to be safe.
