Ighalo scores four in training, Iwobi, Aina grab one each

China based attacker, Odion Ighalo looks set for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya after he scored four goals during Wednesday’s evening training at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Both Ighalo and Bryan Idowu were the last set of players to report to the team’s camp today.

Other players who also scored were Alex Iwobi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Isaac Success and Ola Aina to the delight of head coach Gernot Rohr who continues to perfect his strategy to ensure victory come Saturday and brighten their chances of picking one of the qualification tickets.

The goals were scored during a practice game between team A and team B. Before the game, Ighalo had been drilled on his scoring skills by Rohr which he put into practice.

It was the Eagles first training and it was a good outing to the delight of the crowd who shouted the names of their star players anytime they were with the ball.

The likes of Iwobi was mobbed by fans who waited to have selfies with the Arsenal forward.

Father of Alex, Chuka Iwobi who was at the stadium expressed his delight with the son’s decision to represent Nigeria and not England. “I am proud as a father as well as a Nigerian with the love shown to my son.

“Alex is loved by the nation and he also loves Nigeria. It is a privilege that he is playing for Nigeria and a joy to the family,” said the father.

24 players took part in training.
