Iheanacho fails to secure victory for Leicester at Selhurst Park

Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho failed to secure victory for Leicester City after seeing his penalty saved by Crystal Palace’s goalkeeper Vincente Guaita in Monday’s English Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.

Iheanacho stepped up to take the penalty after Luke Thomas was fouled by James Tomkins in the 18th minute.

It would have been Iheanacho’s first premier league goal of the season after featuring eight times for the Foxes. He was however replaced in the 72nd minute with Demarai Gray

Palace went ahead just before the hour mark when Andros Townsend floated a cross to the far post for Wilfried Zaha to volley home from an acute angle, his shot sneaking past the hand of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Leicester equalised through Harvey Barnes four minutes from the time that lifted the Foxes to the second position in the Premier League table.
