Impressive Rangers International hold USM to goalless draw

 

Confederation Cup campaigners Rangers international posted a superlative performance Saturday in faraway Algiers, holding USM to a goalless draw in the first leg of their two legged encounter.  The Flying Antelopes who were oozing with confidence while departing for Algiers made good their promise to fight the finish in the away match.

The second leg will take place December 23 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.  News of the result tickled the fancy of many Rangers fans who took to the social media to give the team a pat on the back for holding their own when it mattered most, while urging the team to maintain the tempo.

Tomorrow Lobi Stars who are already in Kenya will take their turn as they confront Gor Mahia in the CAF Champions league encounter.

Rangers in a show of being their brother’s keeper sent words of encouragement to Lobi stars ahead of their Sunday encounter.

“All the best to @LobiStars as they face Kenyan side, Gor Mahia on Sunday. You can do it” the club dished out shortly after the very important goalless draw against USM.

Rangers and Lobi Stars had earlier edged past Mekelakeya and UMS de Loum respectively in the opener

 

Ranger’s feat did not just pass as a good match with good result but left a mark as it coincided with the 17th wedding anniversary of the club’s current CEO and former international Davidson Owumi. The club did not allow that go unnoticed.

“Today, the 15th day of December marks the 17th wedding anniversary of our G.M/CEO, Prince Davidson Owumi and our players started the perfect gift with a well-deserved 0-0 draw in faraway Bel Abbes!!! Happy wedding anniversary sir!!! Many more marital bliss!” the team submitted
