Ince makes bizarre claim about Ighalo’s goal for Man Utd v LASK

Paul Ince claims Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo only scored his brilliant goal against LASK because the Europa League fixture was played behind closed doors.

The first leg of the last-16 Europa League clash was played in a virtually empty stadium in Austria due to the coronavirus outbreak.

After a goalless opening 27 minutes, Nigeria international Ighalo juggled the ball on his feet just outside the box before firing a superb shot into the top corner.

The goal was Ighalo’s fourth in eight games since his controversial loan move to Manchester United during the January transfer window.

BT host Jake Humphrey revealed at half-time that Ince felt Ighalo would not have attempted his sensational effort had their have been fans inside the stadium.

And Ince said: ‘It reminds me of one of those goals you try in training. If it’s a full house, I don’t know.
‘Maybe I’m doing a disservice to him, but I don’t know…’
