Injury stops Alli from Switzerland friendly

England midfielder Dele Alli has pulled out of Tuesday’s friendly against Switzerland due to a strain, the English Football Association has announced.

The 22-year-old got injured during England’s 2-1 defeat by Spain in Saturday’s UEFA Nations League opener at the Wembley Stadium. The player is set to return to his club for further treatment.

There would be no replacement for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder by England who have called up Leicester City duo Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray for the friendly match at the King Power Stadium.
