Injury Update: Egypt to name Salah in World Cup final list

Egyptian government’s minister of state for youth and sports Khaled Abd Elazi has revealed that Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah will be named in the squad on June 4.

Egyptian government’s minister of state for youth and sports Khaled Abd Elazi has revealed that Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah will be included in the World Cup squad on June 4.

Egyptians are optimistic that their talisman who has been their driving force would be back on his feet in a fortnight.

Team doctor Mohammed Abu Ola was quoted on the team’s official Twitter account as giving the positive injury update after Salah underwent series of scans.

Early reports suggested that the shoulder problem picked up in Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid will confine Salah to the sidelines for two months.

Salah was substituted after just 30 minutes on the pitch with Adams Lallana after landing on his shoulders while battling for the ball with Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Egypt last qualified for the World Cup in 1990.
