Inter put their weight behind Conte

Inter have defended their coach, Antonio Conte, saying he had been insulted by Juventus players and directors before the coach showed them the middle finger.

Conte and Andrea Agnelli clashed during Juventus-Inter, with the Old Lady’s No.1 who insulted the ex Bianconeri coach at the end of the game.

Conte had shown him and the rest of Juventus directors the middle finger in the half time break and Inter sources quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the coach made a rude gesture because he had been insulted by Juventus’ players and directors before the match and during half-time.

Leonardo Bonucci was on the bench last night and told Conte ‘to respect the referee’, after the tactician appealed for a penalty kick.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fabio Paratici and Lele Oriali also clashed inside the tunnel during the half time break.

Conte said at the end of the game Juventus “should be more polite” adding “the fourth official heard and saw what happened throughout the match.”

Inter sources quoted by La Gazzetta believe the fourth official Gabriele Chiffi informed the referee Maurizio Mariani about abuses of Juventus players towards their coach.
