Irate fans destroy Akwa Utd’s bus

Angry fans of Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu went on rampage on Thursday in the aftermath of their team’s 1-0 win home loss against Akwa United.

Former Enyimba captain, Mfon Udoh silenced the home crowd after he nodded in Etboy Akpan’s pin-point cross in the 29th minute. Akwa United handled by Brazilian coach, Raphael Everton eventually won the game 1-0.

However, SportingLife.ng gathered that after the match furious Yobe fans started throwing stones onto the pitch forcing players of the two teams and the match officials to seek refuge in the middle of the pitch.

Akwa United’s bus was also vandalized by the hoodlums before the Police resorted to using tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The League Management Company is expected to announce disciplinary actions against Yobe Desert Stars as it has done against teams like Plateau United, Remo Stars and Niger Tornadoes that have failed to control their fans in previous matches.
