Italian restaurant tickles Jorginho in Champions league celebration

Jorginho

Jorginho received a touching tribute in an Italian restaurant following his Champions League win, with staff giving the Chelsea midfielder a standing ovation and a giant glass full of dessert.

The central midfielder helped the Blues win the European showpiece against Manchester City at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto on May 29, claiming his first Champions League title.

And a video released on Twitter showed Jorginho’s dessert presented to him in a giant glass before workers at the Gola restaurant in west London surprised him by playing the Champions League music and hailing his efforts, leaving him visibly moved.

After receiving a kiss on the forehead, the 29-year-old hid his face and wiped his eyes as staff clapped and cheered, before holding the huge full glass aloft.

The post’s caption read: ‘Jorginho being celebrated in an Italian restaurant in London after winning the Champions League with Chelsea,’ followed by a crown emoji.

Former Napoli star Jorginho has divided opinion among Chelsea supporters during his stint at the club after signing for £57million in July 2018.

He has played regularly since then, with 141 appearances and 17 goals in all competitions in three seasons, and was the top scorer in the Premier League for Thomas Tuchel’s side – although all seven strikes were penalties.

Jorginho was born in Brazil, but has been capped 28 times by Italy and after being named in Roberto Mancini’s Euro 2020 squad, he is hoping to play a key role for the Italians at the tournament which gets underway soon.
