Italy fans mock France Legend Vieira over Euro 2020 prediction

Italy fans have not forgotten what Patrick Vieira had said after Italy’s win against Switzerland two weeks ago and mocked the former midfielder following France’s Euro 2020 exit Monday night

The 2018 World Cup winners have been knocked out of the European Championships after a defeat on penalties against Switzerland in the round of 16.

Les Blues entered the final ten minutes with a two-goal lead, but the Swisse managed to send the game into extra time and win in the shootout where Kylian Mbappé was the only one to miss.

Italy had beaten Switzerland in their second game of the group stage last week, after which Patrick Vieira didn’t seem to be impressed by the Azzurri’s performance.

“I believe that they lack intensity, lack power, pace, to be even more dangerous going forward, so I’m still going to wait,” the former Arsenal man said.

“I think it’s still a bit too early to take Italy into consideration that they can go to the end.”

Italy fans have not forgotten his words and have taunted the 45-year-old on social media.

Hundreds of fans have shared Vieira’s words on Twitter, which come under a very different light now that France have been eliminated at Switzerland’s hands.

Andrea Agnelli’s cousin Lapo Elkann was among those mocking the 45-year-old on Twitter.

Patrick Vieira should be eating humble pie now. He discredited Italy after the Switzerland match but his France were lucky not to be 2-0 down and they managed to squander 3-1 lead before losing on penalties.

Patrick Vieira after Italy battered Switzerland 3-0: “Italy lack intensity and haven’t played any big teams.”

@OfficialVieira Vieira: Italy have played easy matches, they don’t have intensity, power or rhythm”

Barthez: “Italy haven’t played anyone, they have nothing about them, they won’t go far”

Hilarious how Vieira took a swipe at Italy after they whacked Switzerland with ease.

Maybe if your team paid the opposition some respect and attended to the threats present they’d have done the same?
