Plateau United defender Daniel Itodo is happy to return to active football again after a brief illness he suffered at the just concluded Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.
Itodo fell sick during one of the Super Eagles training sessions in Morocco just before the final group game. He was then stopped from playing any part in Eagles games by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to the incident. CAF carried out regular medical tests on Itodo throughout the competition.
In a chat with The Nation, an elated Itodo revealed that he has been given a clean bill of health to play against Enyimba in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie on Wednesday.
“I have started training since I came back from Morocco. I was even expected to play at the weekend but I was told to rest. I will travel with the team for the game against Enyimba and I should play in the game. I am okay now and I give glory to God for everything,” Itodo he said
Speaking about the match, Itodo added: “This is football and anything can happen within 90 minutes. It is going to be a great game but we will give everything to get something from the game.”
