Iwobi overtakes Ndidi as Nigeria’s most valuable player

Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi has overtaken Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as Nigeria’s most valuable footballer, according to the latest monthly update by CIES Football Observatory.

The Hale End Academy product is now valued at €52.4 million, to become the only Nigerian player above €50 million euros mark across the top five leagues in Europe.

Iwobi’s value increased following his superb form for both Arsenal and Nigeria featuring in every single game played in October.

Next to Iwobi on the list is Ndidi who is valued at €49.8 million. Before now, Ndidi was worth €79.2 in February 2018, making him the most expensive African U21 player.
His value has since reduced by €18.5m since the end of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Out-of-favour Chelsea winger Victor Moses is the third most valuable Nigerian player at €37.4; Kelechi Iheanacho (€17.5m) and Bordeaux’ Samuel Kalu (€8.3m) complete the top five.
